Getting started

How does Autogram find photos to suggest?

Turn on automatic suggestions in the Suggestions tab. Each time you open the app, Autogram looks at new photos on your iPhone, skips screenshots, receipts and blurry shots on the device, and sends only the promising ones for review. Good moments appear in Suggestions with a caption idea.

Why does Autogram ask for access to all my photos?

To find new moments automatically, Autogram needs to see new photos as you take them. If you choose "Limited Access", Autogram only works with the photos you selected. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Autogram → Photos.

No suggestions are showing up

  • Check that automatic suggestions are on (Suggestions → ··· menu).
  • Check photo access in Profile → Photo Access.
  • Pull down on the Suggestions screen to look for new photos.
  • Only photos that are clear, well exposed and "a moment" are suggested; screenshots and everyday captures are skipped on purpose.

Sharing and consent

Who can see my posts?

Only you, the people who follow you, and people tagged in the post.

Why wasn't my photo posted right away?

If you tagged people, everyone tagged must approve before the photo is posted. You'll get a notification when it goes live. If someone declines, the photo goes back to your suggestions so you can share it without them.

Someone wants to post a photo I'm in

You'll see a request at the top of your Feed (and a notification if they're turned on). Tap it to approve or decline. Nothing is posted until you approve.

How do I remove a post?

Open the post in your Feed, tap ··· and choose Remove Post. It disappears from everyone's feed.

How do I block someone?

Contact us at the address above while in-app blocking is being added. Blocking hides your posts and profile from each other and removes follows in both directions.

Instagram import

You can bring your Instagram photos into Autogram (Suggestions → ··· → Import from Instagram, or Profile → Import from Instagram):

  1. In Instagram, open Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information.
  2. Choose Some of your information → Posts, format JSON, media quality High.
  3. When Instagram emails you, download the ZIP file to Files on your iPhone.
  4. In Autogram, choose the ZIP file and how many photos to import.

Imported photos appear in Suggestions with your original captions. Nothing is posted until you share it.

Account

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap "Forgot password?". Open the email on your iPhone and follow the link to choose a new password. If you signed up with Apple, use "Continue with Apple" instead.

How do I change my name, username or password?

Profile → Edit Profile for your name, username and bio. Profile → Change Password for your password.

How do I turn notifications on or off?

In iOS Settings → Autogram → Notifications.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, photos, posts, tags and follows. It can't be undone. If you can't access the app, email us from the address you signed up with and we'll delete it for you.
